Our retreat is an invitation to a time of serenity and quietness; an opportunity to slow down and be fully present in order to gently reconnect with what matters most – ourselves and each other; a chance to get away and come together to focus on the wellbeing of mind, body and soul and a return to balance.
Together we will journey through the chakras, the elements and the senses creating a space for reflection and journaling about this unexpected year. We will breathe, move, meditate and hike cultivating inner peace as well as health and healing to process all that we have each gone through and to notice where we have arrived. What lessons have we learned on our journey? Who have we become because of it? How do we move forward from this space with intention?
This is the perfect time to pause and take a closer look at the possibilities that lie ahead – are we living with purpose and what should our new normal look like – how should we reemerge? We invite you to join us to slow down, reconnect with your own hearts and souls, reflect on these questions and the answers that arise. Breathe. Rest. Nourish your body. THE PROGRAM
YOGA
I will be teaching different styles of yoga depending of the moment of the day and the group’s energy. Morning classes will be mainly based on Yang energy: Vinyasa Flow with a strong focus on alignment. The science of Pranayama will be incorporated so we can study the energetic layer as well. Sunset classes will bring some Yin energy to close our day, using a slower pace to experience calm and silence. We will practice Restorative yoga (with props, blankets and bolsters), Yin yoga (where the poses will be held for a longer time period) and yoga Nidra (a passive visualization-relaxation also called yogic sleep). Each day will also include some quiet time to journal and reflect on whatever you might experience during the practice and your day.
MEDITATION
Each of our days will start with a 30-minute guided or silent meditation at Villa Nina.
Different techniques will be encorporated so that you can explore and choose what fits you best for your own practice back home.
HIKES
There are countless ways to explore the 8 sq mile island of St Barth but certainly one of the most rewarding ways is by foot. The island has a number of varied hikes and walkways that allow guests the chance to discover the island – off the beaten path. Elisa, our hike guide will be taking us on a 2 -2.5 hour-long journeys to different spots on the island. We will uncover hidden coves, natural pools and beaches that can only be accessed on foot or by boat. By the end of the week, you will have had a varied workout all while uncovering the charms and various viewpoints of this idyllic island.
